The Issues
Florida families are paying more and getting less
Florida does not have one money problem. It has a stack of them. Insurance. Taxes. Housing. Power bills. Healthcare. Government growth. They all land on the same kitchen table.
Scott Jewett and Nicole Skelly trust you. You know how to raise your kids, run your shop, and take care of your family. You should keep more of what you earn. You should live free.

Cost of Living & Inflation
Stop the Squeeze on Florida Families
We have an affordability crisis. Groceries, housing, homeowners insurance, property taxes, utilities, gas, car insurance, car payments, health insurance, childcare, and eating out are more expensive now. Utilities keep climbing. Parents pick up extra hours. Gig workers drive later. Small shops stay open longer and still fall behind.
Government did not feel that squeeze first. Families did. When Tallahassee or Washington adds a rule, a fee, or a new program, the cost shows up in the price of milk, the rent check, and the mortgage payment on a modest home.
Floridians are not asking for a lecture about the economy. They are asking why they work harder and keep less.
What Scott and Nicole Believe
Hardworking people should keep more of what they earn. Government should get out of the way so prices can come down and paychecks can stretch further.
Cost of living is not one bill. It is insurance, property taxes, housing, energy, healthcare, and red tape stacked on the same family. Fix those pressures and everyday life gets cheaper.
We trust Floridians to run their own budgets. Government should have to live on one too.
What We Will Do
- Treat cost of living as the test for every state decision: does this make life cheaper for families, or more expensive?
- Cut rules and fees that raise the price of food, housing, energy, insurance, and hiring.
- Stop shifting government costs onto household bills.
- Force agencies to show how new rules hit parents, retirees, renters, and small shops before those rules take effect.
- Tie the rest of this agenda together — insurance, taxes, housing, healthcare, energy, and spending — so the kitchen table squeeze actually eases.
Florida families should not have to work two jobs to afford one life. Keep what you earn. Live free.

Homeowners & Property Insurance
Fix the Insurance Affordability Crisis
Florida homeowners pay some of the highest premiums in the country. When the roof leaks or the storm hits, too little of that money comes back to fix the house.
Retirees on fixed incomes open a renewal letter and wonder if they can stay. Young families trying to buy a first home get priced out before they ever unpack. Small landlords raise rent because the premium jumped again. Coastal towns watch private insurers leave, then watch Citizens grow.
The system is broken by waste, lawsuits that do not help homeowners, rules that chase companies out, and claims practices that grind families down. Storm risk is real. The bloated system on top of that risk is a choice.
Floridians are not asking for another press conference. They are asking why they pay six times more in premiums than they ever see paid out in claims.
What Scott and Nicole Believe
Insurance should protect the home, not feed a bloated system. Premiums should be honest. Claims should get paid. Families should not be trapped with one expensive option.
Homeowners deserve competition, clear rules, and a market that wants to write coverage in Florida. Citizens should be a safety net, not the default company for half the state.
Scott has already drafted insurance reform work because he refuses to accept that this is “just Florida.” People who pay the bill deserve a system that works when they need it.
What We Will Do
- Cut the waste that drives premiums up and keeps claim dollars from reaching damaged homes.
- Increase competition so more companies want to insure Florida families.
- Protect homeowners from abusive claims practices and endless runaround.
- Keep Citizens as a backstop, not a growing substitute for a working market.
- Tell families the truth about flood risk and storm exposure instead of hiding costs until renewal day.
- Measure reform the only way that matters: are premiums coming down, and do claims get paid?
Your home should not be a luxury item because the insurance system failed. Fix the insurance affordability crisis.
Property Taxes
Stop Taxing People Out of Their Homes
You worked a lifetime to own your house. Then the county sends another bill for the privilege of living in it. If the value on paper goes up, the tax can go up even when your paycheck does not.
That hits retirees on fixed incomes first. It hits widows who want to stay on the same street. It hits young families who finally bought a starter home and then learned the tax bill is another mortgage.
Parents should not have to choose between keeping the house and paying for groceries. Small shops tied to a building feel the same squeeze. Local government got used to spending the increase. Families got used to being told there is no other way.
There is another way. If you own your home, you should not keep paying rent to the government forever.
What Scott and Nicole Believe
Eliminate 100% of property taxes on homesteaded homes. Your home, your money, and your freedom belong to you, not them.
Florida families should never be taxed out of houses they already paid for. Government should live within its means, just like those families do.
Property tax relief is not a gift. It is the state admitting it does not own your house.
What We Will Do
- Fight to eliminate homestead property taxes so owners are not billed every year for staying in their own home.
- Force state and local governments to set priorities and cut waste instead of leaning on the next assessment increase.
- Protect retirees and fixed income owners who did everything right and still fear the tax notice.
- Be honest that government will have to spend less. That is the point. Families already do.
If you own your home, you shouldn’t have to keep paying the government for the privilege of living in it.

Housing Affordability
Florida Housing Should Not Be So Expensive
A young couple wants a starter home near work. The listing is gone in a weekend, or the payment is impossible once insurance and taxes land on top of the mortgage. A teacher rents farther from school each year. A restaurant crew drives an hour because nothing nearby is open at their wage.
That is not only a market story. Rules, delays, and layered approvals make it slower and more expensive to build the homes working people need. When government makes building hard, families pay rent for the delay.
Longtime residents get pushed out of the neighborhoods they helped build. Adult children cannot move back near their parents. Small landlords sell because insurance and taxes ate the margin. “Affordable housing” becomes a slogan while the starter home disappears.
Floridians should not have to leave Florida to afford Florida.
What Scott and Nicole Believe
Housing gets cheaper when people are free to build, buy, and rent without a maze of permission. Get government out of the way of new homes, especially starter homes.
Property rights matter. So does the ability of working people to live near the jobs that keep this state running.
We will not pretend a new office in Tallahassee can wish prices down. Cut the barriers.
Let builders build. Let families stay.
What We Will Do
- Strip the red tape that makes ordinary homes take years and extra dollars to approve.
- Support local decisions that add starter homes and rentals without turning every project into a political fight.
- Stop stacking insurance, tax, and fee costs onto the monthly payment until working families are priced out.
- Respect property rights while rejecting the idea that government should pick winners among developers.
- Measure success by whether nurses, teachers, tradespeople, and young families can still live in their communities.
Florida should be a place you can start a life, not a place you get priced out of.

Immigration & Illegal Immigration
Secure Borders. Legal Opportunity.
A free country should welcome peaceful people who come here to work, build a life, and join a community. Freedom also depends on knowing who is coming in.
When the system is slow, confusing, and unfair, honest people wait in line while criminals, traffickers, and cartels look for gaps. That is not compassion. That is a broken process that hurts citizens, legal immigrants, workers, and business owners.
Florida families feel it in crowded services, strained schools, and job sites where the rules seem to apply to some people and not others. Small business owners who follow the law watch competitors who do not. Communities want order, not chaos and not cruelty.
The two major parties use this issue to raise money and pick a fight. Floridians want a system that is lawful, faster for honest people, and tough on people who hurt others.
What Scott and Nicole Believe
Secure the border. Make legal immigration simpler and faster. Focus enforcement on criminals, traffickers, and real security threats.
Peaceful people who want to work and follow the law should not face a wall of bureaucracy. People who commit crimes should not get a pass.
The goal is more freedom, less bureaucracy, and a system that is fair to citizens, immigrants, workers, and businesses alike.
What We Will Do
- Support secure borders and clear enforcement against criminals, traffickers, and genuine security threats.
- Push for a simpler, faster legal path so honest people can come, work, and contribute without disappearing into a backlog.
- Stop using Floridians as props in a national shouting match.
- Protect the rule of law so legal residents and citizens are not asked to ignore the rules everyone else is told to follow.
- Judge policy by whether communities are safer and whether peaceful workers have a lawful way in.
Welcome people who come to build a life and assimilate. Stop people who come to harm our way of life. Make the lawful path the easier path.

Education & Parental Choice
Parents Should Decide
Parents know their children better than any official in Tallahassee. They know how their kid learns. They know when a school is working and when it is not.
Too often the system protects itself first. Families get assigned a building and told to be grateful. Teachers get buried in paperwork. Kids who need something different wait. A mom who wants to homeschool, pick a charter, or try a small private school should not have to fight the state for permission to do what is best for her child.
Young people starting out need skills that lead to work, not a pile of debt and a diploma that does not open a door. Higher education should serve students, not a bureaucracy.
Education is not a turf war between politicians. It is a parent standing in a doorway asking, “Will this help my kid?”
What Scott and Nicole Believe
Parents decide. Funding should follow the student, whether that is a traditional public school, a charter, a private school, homeschool, or another option that fits the child.
ZIP code and income should not trap a family in a school that is failing their kid. Choice is for every parent, not only the ones who can already buy their way out.
Education should help children succeed. It should not exist to protect a government system.
What We Will Do
- Put parents in the driver’s seat and keep them there.
- Make money follow the child so families have real options, not just a brochure.
- Cut the rules that bury teachers in paperwork and pull time away from students.
- Keep curriculum decisions close to families. No identity politics in the classroom. Teach kids. Don’t recruit them.
- Demand results from schools and colleges that take public money. If it does not help students, it does not get a blank check.
Parents, not bureaucrats, should make the big choices for their kids.

Healthcare Affordability & Access
Care You Can Afford. Choices You Can Use.
Healthcare is personal. It is the nurse on a long shift who still cannot afford her own bill. It is the family opening a surprise statement after a short ER visit. It is the worker who loses a job and suddenly wonders if the medicine stays available.
This year, hundreds of thousands of Floridians lost subsidized coverage or saw prices jump. People did not become less sick. The paperwork and the price tag changed.
Government keeps adding rules that sound helpful and then show up as higher premiums, narrower networks, and fewer choices. Small business owners trying to cover a crew feel it. Gig workers who buy their own plan feel it. Retirees stuck between systems feel it.
Families do not need another slogan. They need a doctor they can see and a bill they can pay.
What Scott and Nicole Believe
Patients and healthcare professionals should come first. People need affordable care and more choices, not a thicker rulebook.
Government should not make healthcare more expensive or more confusing. More options, clearer prices, and fewer barriers beat another layer of control.
A nurse or doctor should be free to care for patients. A family should be free to pick the coverage that fits their life.
What We Will Do
- Fight rules that raise premiums and shrink the number of plans families can actually use.
- Push for clearer prices so a parent can know the cost before the bill arrives.
- Expand choices for workers, small shops, and people who buy coverage on their own.
- Keep the focus on patients and the people who treat them, not on protecting a system.
- Tell the truth when federal subsidy changes hit Florida households, and refuse to pretend Tallahassee can hide the cost.
People need care they can reach and a price they can live with. Government should stop making that harder.

Growth, Development & Infrastructure
Grow Without Crushing Communities
Florida is growing because people want to be here. That should be good news. Too often it feels like a traffic jam, a crowded classroom, and a construction fence where a familiar view used to be.
Parents spend half the afternoon in the car. Truck drivers lose hours on the same stretch of road. Homeowners watch a wetland or a tree line vanish and then get told the pipes and schools will “catch up later.” Later usually means another fee.
Growth without capacity is how you get angry neighborhoods and brittle systems. Growth with a pile of special deals is how you get the feeling that someone else got the break.
People are not against the next family moving in. They are against a government that approves the rooftops and forgets the roads, water, and schools those rooftops need.
What Scott and Nicole Believe
Communities should grow without being crushed. Infrastructure is not a favor. If you allow the houses, you have to be honest about the roads, water, sewer, and classrooms.
Local people and property owners should have a real voice. Distant agencies and sweetheart incentives should not run the map.
Florida can welcome people and still protect the places that make this state worth living in.
What We Will Do
- Demand that roads, water, sewer, and schools keep up with growth instead of trailing it by a decade.
- Cut the delays that raise costs, then dump those costs on the next buyer.
- Stop using taxpayer incentives to force growth the community cannot support.
- Respect property rights and local voices when a project changes a neighborhood.
- Be honest about tradeoffs. Growth is not free. Neither is pretending the pipes will appear on their own.
Florida can grow and still feel like home. The roads, water, and schools have to keep up, and the special deals have to stop.

Hurricanes, Flooding, Water & Environmental Protection
Protect Homes, Water, and Coast
A family that just finished boarding the windows should not also be praying the insurance company picks up the phone. A fisherman knows the water. A farmer knows the land. A homeowner on a canal knows what happens when the surge comes.
Florida lives with storms. That will not change. What can change is whether we keep building the next neighborhood in the next vulnerable place, then acting surprised when the bill arrives. Water quality, the Everglades, and coastal flooding are not abstract “environment” talk. They are drinking water, jobs, and whether the house is still standing.
FAU polling found most Floridians worry about stronger storms and worse surge. They are right to. Risk is real. Hiding it until premium day is how families get trapped.
Good stewards already live here. They do not need a lecture from a distant agency.
They need honest rules, working mitigation, and a government that does not make recovery harder than the storm.
What Scott and Nicole Believe
Farmers, fishermen, and homeowners care for the land they live on. Good stewards, not distant agencies, should make the big decisions about their own property.
Protecting water and coast is how you protect homes, jobs, and the next generation’s Florida. Property rights and clean water are not opposites.
Storm readiness and insurance costs are the same conversation. Pretending otherwise is how premiums explode after the season ends.
What We Will Do
- Support preparedness and mitigation that actually protect homes and businesses, not just press releases after landfall.
- Be honest about flood and surge risk so families are not sold a house the system cannot insure.
- Protect water quality and the Everglades without burying working people in paperwork that does not clean a single gallon.
- Respect property rights. Stop treating every owner like the problem.
- Connect storm policy to insurance reform so recovery does not become a second disaster.
Protect the home. Protect the water. Trust the people who live on the land to be good stewards of it.

Government Spending, Taxes & Accountability
Government Should Live on a Budget
When a family earns less, they cut what they cannot afford. When a small shop has a bad month, the owner skips a draw and watches every receipt. Government does the opposite. It asks for more.
Floridians see waste and then get told the answer is another tax, another fee, another program. Retirees who saved carefully watch Tallahassee spend like the well never runs dry. Parents who pack lunches watch agencies grow.
Rules pile up. So do hidden costs. A new form does not look like a tax. It still takes a Saturday the shop owner does not have. A camera network does not look like a tax. It still treats free people like suspects for driving to work.
Accountability is not a slogan. It is whether anyone can follow the money and say no.
What Scott and Nicole Believe
It is your money. Government should spend it only when the expense is truly necessary.
Lower taxes and tighter budgets force government to set priorities, cut waste, and become accountable. That is how families already live.
Transparency is not optional. Free people have a right to see how they are being governed — and a right not to be tracked just for using the road.
What We Will Do
- Demand that government live on a budget the way families and small shops already do.
- Cut waste before asking taxpayers for another dollar.
- Shrink the rulebook that costs time and money without making life safer or better.
- Open the books. If the public cannot see it, it should not be spent.
- Oppose warrantless tracking of everyday Floridians, including ALPR and Flock style camera networks that log parents, nurses, and delivery drivers.
Stop asking taxpayers for more. Start making government do more with what it already has.

Public Safety / Crime / Law and Order
Keep Communities Safe. Protect Your Rights.
A store owner should not dread the next smash and grab. A parent should not change the walk to school. A senior living alone should not feel like the easy target. Nurses leaving a night shift should get to the car in peace. "Teen Take Overs" are not an acceptable trend.
Florida communities need to be safe. That means going after people who hurt others: violent offenders, traffickers, dealers who poison neighborhoods, and crews that treat theft like a business.
It also means the justice system should spend its time on real threats, not on turning everyday life into a dragnet. Warrantless cameras that log every errand do not make a family safer. They treat free people like suspects.
Law abiding parents and homeowners have the right to protect their families. Public safety and constitutional rights are not a trade. A free state can do both.
What Scott and Nicole Believe
Keep communities safe. Give law enforcement the tools to go after violent crime, trafficking, drugs, and organized theft.
Demand accountability. Focus the justice system on people who pose a real threat. Protect the rights of everyone else.
Free people should not have their every move recorded for driving down the road. This campaign opposes ALPR camera networks and mass surveillance of lawful residents.
Law abiding Floridians have the right to keep and bear arms to protect their homes and families. That right should not be chipped away by politicians who do not trust the people.
What We Will Do
- Support effective policing aimed at violent crime, trafficking, drugs, and organized theft.
- Push courts and prosecutors to focus resources on people who threaten public safety.
- Protect constitutional rights, including due process and the right of law abiding people to defend themselves.
- Reject mass surveillance of everyday travel, including Flock style ALPR systems.
- Give local law enforcement flexibility to solve problems in their own communities, and hold them accountable when they abuse that power.
Safe streets. Free people. Go after real threats. Leave law abiding Floridians alone.
Economy and Jobs
Get Government Out of the Way of Work
Nicole and her husband have made payroll since 2007. They know what a new rule from Tallahassee does to a small carpentry shop. It does not hit the politician first. It hits the owner who cannot pass the cost on and the crew that needs hours next week.
Gig workers picking up weekend rides, parents running a side hustle from the kitchen table, and young people trying to start something all run into the same wall: permits, licenses, and delays that have nothing to do with serving a customer.
Florida can attract new industries. It can also scare them off with taxes, power bill surprises, and a rulebook that only the big players can afford to read. Workers do not need a slogan about jobs. They need an employer who can afford to hire them.
A robust economy with more living wage work is how families stay. Government does not create that by adding another office. It creates that by getting out of the way.
What Scott and Nicole Believe
Trust people who build things. Small shops, the self employed, and gig workers should be free to earn a living without asking permission for every step.
Keep taxes competitive. Cut rules that make it expensive to hire. Welcome new industries without handing them a taxpayer subsidy.
Scott has built companies and solved hard problems in the private sector. Nicole has kept a family business alive through good years and bad ones. That is the economy they will fight for.
What We Will Do
- Cut occupational licenses and rules that block people from working.
- Make it cheaper and simpler to hire, especially for small shops.
Keep Florida competitive on taxes without selling the state off through special deals. - Support workforce paths that lead to real jobs, trades, skills, and new industries, instead of paperwork theaters.
- Say no to barriers that protect connected companies and punish the next startup.
Let Floridians work, hire, and build. The best jobs plan is less permission and more freedom.
AI Data Centers & Florida’s Energy Future
Don’t Make Families Pay Big Tech’s Bill
A potential simple solution: The data center provides its own power, uses an internal heat exchange cooling system similar to a car radiator, and is not built near neighborhoods or cities. This way they don't use existing power grids or existing water supplies.
A retiree on a fixed income should not see the power bill jump because a warehouse of computers moved in down the road. A small shop should not subsidize the water and substations of a company that could write a check.
Artificial intelligence is bringing real investment. That can mean jobs and better tools. It can also mean massive data centers that gulp electricity, water, and land.
When government hands out incentives and then quietly socializes the infrastructure, ordinary Floridians pick up the tab.
Neighbors worry about wells, wetlands, and whether the next rate case will treat a tech campus like just another customer. Property owners worry about eminent domain dressed up as “economic development.” Parents wonder why their light bill is part of someone else’s business plan.
Florida should not be for sale. Innovation is welcome. A hidden tax on households is not.
What Scott and Nicole Believe
Welcome technological investment. Do not force residents and small businesses to subsidize it.
Data centers should pay their own way for power, water, land, and grid upgrades. Taxpayers should not underwrite some of the world’s largest technology companies.
Energy policy should serve Florida families first. That includes cleaner, safer, reliable power, and it includes nuclear as part of a serious energy future.
Property rights and local voices come before ribbon cuttings.
What We Will Do
- Require data centers and similar projects to cover the power, water, and infrastructure they use instead of shifting costs onto household rates.
- End taxpayer incentives that socialize the downside and privatize the upside for giant tech firms.
- Protect property rights and water resources when a project changes a community.
- Plan energy capacity for Florida homes and shops first, then for industrial demand that pays its own bill.
- Support cleaner, safer, reliable energy, including nuclear, so the state is not stuck choosing between growth and brownouts.
Florida should welcome builders and innovators. It should not put their power bill on your kitchen table.
Flock Cameras & Surveillance
Your Drive Home Is Not a Government File
Flock cameras do not just look for criminals. They quietly track everyday Floridians. A parent driving kids to school. A nurse heading to a night shift. A small business owner making deliveries. A retiree going to the store. The camera does not care why you were on that road. It logs you anyway.
Once that data is collected, it can be searched and shared. Often without a warrant. Often without you ever knowing. A system built to catch a stolen car becomes a system that can reconstruct your week.
That is not how free people should live. You should be able to drive home without becoming a line in a government file. Safety does not require treating every law abiding driver like a suspect.
Communities still need real policing aimed at real threats. Tracking every errand is not the same thing. It is cheaper for government to watch everyone than to do the harder work of going after people who actually hurt others.
What Scott and Nicole Believe
Free people should not have their every move recorded by the government just for driving down the road.
This campaign is against Flock cameras. It is against ALPR networks. It is against warrantless mass tracking of lawful residents.
If police have a suspect and a warrant, they can do their job. That is a far cry from logging parents, nurses, and delivery drivers by default.
Your life is your business. Getting to work is not probable cause.
What We Will Do
- Oppose Flock cameras and all ALPR systems that scan and store the movements of everyday Floridians.
- Fight the spread of these networks in cities, counties, and along Florida roads.
- Demand a warrant before government searches travel data that can rebuild a person’s day.
- Stop selling “public safety” as a reason to watch people who have done nothing wrong.
- Keep law enforcement focused on violent crime, trafficking, and real threats, not on building a map of every drive to school and every night shift.
You should be able to drive your kids to school without the government keeping the receipt. We are against Flock cameras. Period.

Guns & the Second Amendment
Parents Have the Right to Protect Their Families
A law abiding parent should not have to ask permission to protect their kids. A homeowner should not have to hope the sheriff arrives in time. A woman closing a shop at night should not be told her right to defend herself is a talking point for later.
Politicians who do not trust the people keep chipping away at that right. Another rule. Another list. Another delay. None of it stops a criminal who already ignores the law. It does land on the nurse, the truck driver, and the retiree who followed every rule and still gets treated like the problem.
Florida families live in the real world. They lock the doors. They walk a dark parking lot. They want their children safe. The Second Amendment was written for those people, not for a committee in Tallahassee.
Scott and Nicole trust you with your own life. That includes the tools you use to protect it.
What Scott and Nicole Believe
Law abiding parents and homeowners have the right to protect their families. That right should not be chipped away by politicians who do not trust the people.
This campaign is pro Second Amendment. No half measures. Support the right to possess, carry, and modify weapons and accessories for self defense and to keep a free people free.
We support open carry and constitutional carry in Florida. We oppose restrictions on weapons, ammunition, and accessories, unless a private property owner sets those rules on their own premises.
Private property still belongs to the owner. Your rights do not stop at the state line, and they do not disappear because someone in office got nervous.
What We Will Do
- Defend the right of law abiding Floridians to keep and bear arms without a new stack of permission slips.
- Support constitutional carry and open carry in Florida.
Oppose new restrictions on weapons, ammunition, and accessories. - Respect the right of private property owners to set rules on their own premises, and stop government from setting those rules for everyone else.
- Reject the idea that trusting free people is dangerous, and that trusting politicians with a monopoly on force is safe.
Keep the focus on criminals who use guns to hurt people, not on parents and homeowners who keep one to stay alive.
