Meet Scott
Libertarian Candidate for Governor of Florida, 2026
Scott Jewett is a businessman, innovator, and lifelong problem solver who calls Boca Raton home. Like millions of Floridians, he and his wife Regina live with the daily realities of rising insurance costs, property taxes, and the stubborn question of how to leave a freer, more prosperous Florida for the next generation.
He's running for Florida Governor because he believes Florida can do better, with less government overreach, more individual liberty, and practical solutions that put people first.

A Family Man Who Calls Florida Home
Scott and Regina live in Boca Raton, where they face the same insurance premiums, property costs, and everyday pressures that millions of their neighbors know all too well. For Scott, this isn't abstract policy; it's personal. He has drafted concrete proposals to reform Florida's broken homeowners insurance system because he's lived the frustration of paying far more in premiums than is ever paid back in claims. He is the only candidate who has attended the legislative sessions in person, and he's fighting to eliminate property tax for every homestead homeowner in the state.
Family is central to how Scott sees the world: protect what matters, take responsibility, and leave things better than you found them. After marrying Regina in 2019, he welcomed her two sons, Jamie and Jonathon, into his life, and he is father to two daughters, Alexandra and Savannah. "I am proud to carry forward a legacy of Libertarian values passed down from my father and grandfather. Raised with a commitment to helping those in need and upholding strong ethical standards, these principles have guided me throughout my life."
From the Garage to the Global Stage
Born in Seattle in 1959 and raised in San Diego, Scott was the kind of kid who preferred the canyons and the garage to sitting still in a classroom. His father, Harvey, an aerospace engineer, would bring home real engineering problems for his son to tinker with. By age 11, Scott was building and selling custom furniture and dollhouses. At 16 he took a job as a dishwasher at a Bonanza Steakhouse; by 18 he was in management. The carpet cleaning business he launched with a partner in those early years is still operating today.
He went on to earn both his bachelor's degree and his MBA in business management from San Diego State University, a combination of hands on grit and formal training that shaped everything that followed.
Entrepreneur, Inventor, and Builder
Scott is the kind of person who sees a problem and starts sketching a solution. He holds more than a dozen U.S. and international patents spanning oil and gas safety, force mitigation systems, construction, medical devices, and energy. His work includes:
- Blast mitigation systems that still protect the walls of the Pentagon after 9/11, along with similar protections for other high profile buildings.
- Oil well integrity solutions developed with BP and Shell to help prevent disasters like the Deepwater Horizon blowout.
- Advanced ballistic composites that outperformed traditional armor materials in military applications.
- Wisp Energy, which he founded to develop more efficient wind and wave turbines, work accepted into Florida Atlantic University's Tech Runway incubator, supported by a National Science Foundation grant pathway and a research partnership with the University of California, Irvine.
As a business builder, Scott grew LINE X from a young franchise system into more than 600 locations across 23 countries, with system wide sales exceeding $160 million and repeated appearances on Entrepreneur Magazine's fastest growing franchises list before leading the company's sale. In 2018, he and his family acquired Pinspiration, a creative DIY studio concept, and grew it into a national franchise with dozens of locations.
Along the way, he has advised more than 250 companies, including 20th Century Fox, Tyco, West Marine, Denny's, and Drybar, helping them scale, franchise, and operate more effectively. He is the author of The Ultimate Guide to Becoming a Franchisee and is at work on a second book on practical economics.
Liberty, Responsibility, and Looking Out for One Another
Scott describes his philosophy as Humanitarian Libertarianism: free people looking out for each other. He believes the proper role of government is to protect individual rights, keep people safe, and then get out of the way so that families, entrepreneurs, and communities can thrive.
He is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and responsible gun ownership. He has long backed organizations that help people in need — including Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Make A Wish Foundation, Goodwill, and World Vision — served on the board of a recovery organization, and quietly helped individuals rebuild their lives.
"As a Libertarian, my focus is on empowering individuals, reducing government intervention, and promoting freedom and personal responsibility. Together, we can make Florida a place where freedom thrives and people are empowered to live their best lives."
Why Scott Is Running for Governor for FLorida
Florida faces real pressures: insurance costs that push fixed income residents out of their homes, housing that's out of reach for too many working families, an education system that too often fails to prepare kids for the future, and a government that keeps testing the limits of personal freedom.
Scott is not a career politician. He's a builder who has solved hard problems in the private sector and for the Department of Defense. He has already drafted insurance reform legislation and a detailed plan, because he refuses to accept that Floridians should keep paying six times more in premiums than they ever receive back in claims.
His agenda centers on a strong economy with more living wage jobs, real educational choice, public safety, lower taxes, and a government that respects the rights of every Floridian, regardless of which party they usually vote for.
This is our moment to choose a different path: one that trusts free people to look out for each other and build the Florida we all want to live in.
