Who we are

Who is running?

Scott Jewett is the Libertarian candidate for Governor of Florida. Nicole Skelly is the Libertarian candidate for Lieutenant Governor. They are running together in 2026.

Scott is a family man, entrepreneur, inventor, and problem solver who lives in Boca Raton with his wife, Regina. Nicole is a lifelong Floridian, a mother of three, and a small business owner who has spent her life showing up when people need help.

Neither of them grew up dreaming about political office. They got tired of watching government grow while ordinary Floridians got squeezed — and they stopped waiting for the red team and the blue team to fix it.

Why are you running?

Florida is the best state in the country. When Florida leads, the rest of America notices. That only stays true if we trust people more than government.

Parents are picking up extra shifts. Gig workers are driving late at night. Small business owners are staying open longer just to keep the lights on.

Retirees on fixed incomes are watching every bill.

Scott and Nicole are running to keep Florida the best state in America. Shrink overreach. Stop wasting your tax dollars. Defend your rights. Get Tallahassee out of the way so you can keep what you earn, raise your kids as you see fit, and live free.

If you want leaders who get out of your way instead of standing in it, stand with us.

Are you career politicians?

No.

Scott built companies, holds more than a dozen patents, and has solved hard problems in the private sector and for the Department of Defense. He has made payroll. He has lived Florida’s insurance mess in his own house.

Nicole and her husband have owned a carpentry company in Florida since 2007. She kept the books, raised three kids, homeschooled their son for a time, and still found hours to bake for shelters, raise money for Special Olympics Florida, and build beds for children through Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

Politicians talk. Real people live with the results. That is who this ticket is.

How do Scott and Nicole work as a team?

They share the same North Star. You own your life. Government should stay small. Parents decide. Hardworking people should keep more of what they earn.

Scott brings the builder’s eye, insurance reform, energy, data centers, and the practical work of making a broken system function. Nicole brings the Florida she was raised in, family, small business, county fights for people’s rights, and the simple rule she learned in sixth grade: if you see a need, you fill it.

One ticket. One mission. Trust people. Shrink government. Let Floridians live free.

Why Libertarian

Why not run with the red team or the blue team?

Almost ten years ago, Nicole walked away from the two party system for good. She looked until she found the only party whose principles match what she believes the Founders actually meant: a government that stays small, respects your freedom, and stops treating taxpayers like an open wallet.

Scott carries a family legacy of those same values, help people who need it, keep your word, and leave things better than you found them.

The red team and the blue team use the same playbook. More rules. More spending. Less trust in you. The players change. The playbook does not.

The Libertarian Party of Florida says you own your life. We agree. We will uphold and defend the Constitution, not just talk about it during campaign season.

Aren’t Libertarians too extreme, or unelectable?

We are the opposite of extreme. Calling freedom extreme is how politicians try to shut down common sense.

We just trust parents, workers, and small business owners more than we trust government. Most Floridians already live this way every day. They work hard. They take care of their families. They want to be left alone.

That’s not unelectable. That’s what a lot of people are quietly waiting to vote for.

The two big parties take something normal, like freedom, and slap the word “extreme” on it. Then they repeat it until it starts to sound true.

Deep down, they know the real truth: a lot of people in the middle already think like this.

Is a third party vote a wasted vote?

A wasted vote is a vote for the same playbook you already know does not work.

If you want more government control, you have plenty of options. If you want more freedom, this is the ticket that will say so out loud, and mean it after the election.

Your vote belongs to you. Use it for the Florida you want your kids to inherit.

Do I have to be a registered Libertarian to support you?

No. This campaign is for every individual’s rights. The smallest minority is the individual. That is who we serve.

If you already live this way, work hard, take care of your family, and want to be left alone, you are not extreme. You are the Florida we are running to serve.

Independents, no party voters, and people tired of both major parties are welcome. So is anyone who usually votes red or blue and is ready for leaders who trust them.

Where we stand

What is your mission, in one breath?

Our mission is to keep Florida the best state in America by trusting people more than government. We will shrink overreach, stop wasting your tax dollars, defend your rights, and get Tallahassee out of the way, so you can keep what you earn, raise your kids as you see fit, and live free.

Trust people. Shrink government. Let Floridians live free.

What is the biggest problem facing Florida families?

Everyday life costs too much, and government keeps making it more complicated.

It is not one bill. It is insurance, property taxes, housing, groceries, power, healthcare, and red tape stacked on the same kitchen table. A nurse should not have to do math in the grocery aisle. A retiree should not fear the next insurance notice. A young couple should not get priced out of the neighborhood they work in.

Cost of living is the test for every decision we make: does this make life cheaper for families, or more expensive?

What will you do about homeowners insurance?

Fix the insurance affordability crisis.

Florida homeowners pay some of the highest premiums in the country. Too little of that money comes back when the roof leaks or the storm hits.

Scott and Regina live this. So do millions of other families.

Cut the waste. Grow competition. Protect homeowners from abusive claims practices. Keep Citizens as a backstop, not the default company for half the state. Measure reform the only way that matters: are premiums coming down, and do claims get paid?

Your home should not be a luxury item because the insurance system failed.

Will you eliminate property taxes?

Yes, 100% of property taxes on homesteaded homes.

If you own your home, you should not keep paying the government for the privilege of living in it. That hits retirees on fixed incomes first. It hits widows who want to stay on the same street. It hits young families who finally bought a starter home and then learned the tax bill is another mortgage.

Government will have to live within its means, just like those families already do. That is the point.

Where do you stand on immigration?

Secure borders. Legal opportunity.

A free country should welcome peaceful people who come here to work, build a life, and join a community. Freedom also depends on knowing who is coming in.

Make legal immigration simpler and faster. Focus enforcement on criminals, traffickers, and real security threats. Welcome people who come to build. Stop people who come to harm. Make the lawful path the easy path.

Who should decide how children are educated?

Parents. Not bureaucrats.

Parents know their kids better than anyone in Tallahassee. Funding should follow the student, public school, charter, private school, homeschool, or another option that fits the child. ZIP code and income should not trap a family in a school that is failing their kid.

Nicole homeschooled their son for a couple of years. That is not a talking point. It is how she lived it. Education should help children succeed. It should not exist to protect a government system.

Are you pro–Second Amendment?

Yes. Fully. No half measures.

Law abiding parents and homeowners have the right to protect their families. That right should not be chipped away by politicians who do not trust the people.

We support the right to possess, carry, and modify weapons and accessories for self defense and to keep a free people free. We support open carry and constitutional carry in Florida. We oppose restrictions on weapons, ammunition, and accessories, unless a private property owner sets those rules on their own premises.

What is your position on Flock cameras and license plate readers?

We are against them. Period.

Flock cameras do not just look for criminals. They quietly track everyday Floridians, parents driving kids to school, nurses heading to night shifts, small business owners making deliveries. Once that data is collected, it can be searched and shared, often without a warrant.

Your drive home is not a government file. Free people should not have their every move recorded just for using the road. If police have a suspect and a warrant, they can do their job. That is not the same as logging every errand.

How do you handle taxes and government spending?

It is your money. Government should spend it only when the expense is truly necessary.

When a family earns less, they cut what they cannot afford. When a small shop has a bad month, the owner watches every receipt. Government should have to live by the same rule.

Stop asking taxpayers for more. Start making government do more with what it already has. Open the books. Cut waste before asking for another dollar.

What about healthcare?

Care you can afford. Choices you can use.

Healthcare is personal. It is the nurse on a long shift who still cannot afford her own bill. It is the family opening a surprise statement after a short ER visit. It is the worker who loses a job and suddenly wonders if the medicine stays available.

Patients and healthcare professionals should come first. More options, clearer prices, and fewer barriers beat another layer of control. Government should stop making care more expensive and more confusing.

Will you make families pay for giant data centers?

No. Welcome the investment. Do not put the power bill on your kitchen table.

Data centers should pay their own way for power, water, land, and grid upgrades. Taxpayers should not underwrite some of the world’s largest technology companies.

Energy policy should serve Florida families first. That includes cleaner, safer, reliable power, and it includes nuclear as part of a serious energy future.

How do you keep communities safe without shrinking our rights?

Safe streets. Free people. Those are not opposites.

Go after violent crime, trafficking, drugs, and organized theft. Support good officers. Hold bad ones accountable. Focus the justice system on people who are actually a threat.

Do not treat every law abiding driver like a suspect. Do not chip away at the right of parents and homeowners to protect their families. A free state can keep people safe without building a file on every trip to school.

Where can I read the full platform?

Start with The Issues for the people first version of each priority. Use the Platform page when you want more detail.

Locked issue titles on the site include Stop the Squeeze on Florida Families; Fix the Insurance Affordability Crisis; Stop Taxing People Out of Their Homes; Working Floridians Should Be Able to Stay; Secure Borders. Legal Opportunity.; Parents Decide; Care You Can Afford. Choices You Can Use.; and the rest of the Issues hub.

How this campaign works

How will you sound, and how will you govern?

Firm. Clear. Respectful. We treat people like adults.

We name real Floridians before we name a policy. We stay calm. We do not lecture, shout, or hide behind political answers that go in circles and say nothing.

If we win, the job is simple: trust you, spend your money like it is yours, and get government out of the way. The goal is a Florida our children can inherit with pride, a state that would make the Founders proud, and a country that notices because Florida led.

Will you pick winners and losers?

No. Government should not pick winners and losers. Let people and businesses compete fairly.

That is true for special tax deals, sweetheart growth incentives, and rules that only the biggest players can afford to read. The next carpentry shop and the next side hustle should not need a lobbyist to earn a living.

Do you practice identity politics?

No. This campaign is for every individual’s rights. We already focus on the smallest minority: the individual.

We will not divide Floridians into groups so we can sell them a slogan. If you work hard, take care of your family, and want to be left alone, you are who we serve.

Identity politics is just another tool of division the two big parties use, division over uniting, division over solutions, division over everything to keep people fighting over topics while the two parties keep doing the same old, same old. Those days are over.

How you can help

How can I volunteer?

Show up the way Nicole was raised to show up. If you see a need, fill it.

Visit Get Involved → Volunteer. You can help on the ground or online, talking to neighbors, working events, making calls, sharing the message. You do not need a title. You need a few hours and a belief that Florida can do better.

How do I donate?

Go to the Donate page. Every dollar helps this ticket reach parents, workers, retirees, and independents who never hear a liberty message unless someone pays to put it in front of them.

If you want to talk one on one at a higher level of support, use the Major Donors page. We do not offer favors or positions in exchange for fundraising. Your money supports the campaign. It does not buy a job.

How do I stay informed?

Join the list under Stay Informed. Follow the campaign on social media. Check News and Videos for updates.
We will keep talking the way we talk here: people first, short sentences, no lecture.

How do I register to vote?

Use Get Involved → Register to Vote for official Florida guidance and links. Your vote is how this starts. A mission statement does not change a state. Ballots do.

How can the media reach you?

Use the Contact page and mark the message as a media inquiry. Campaign Communications welcomes questions.

We will answer in the same voice you see on this site. Calm. Clear. People first.

I still have a question you did not answer.

Good. Send it through Contact. If it is a question a lot of Floridians have, we will add it here.

We would rather answer you straight than hide behind a slogan.
