Florida Families Are Stepping Up. We See You. Thank You.
A campaign statement from Scott Jewett and Nicole Skelly

Something is happening across Florida. It is not coming from Tallahassee. It is not coming from a consultant’s playbook. It is coming from people.
Parents after school pickup. Small-business owners locking up after a long day. Retirees who still care enough to show up. Nurses finishing a shift. Tradespeople who build this state with their hands. Gig workers who drive extra hours so the bills get paid. Young people who refuse to inherit a Florida that costs more and offers less freedom.
They are finding this campaign.
They are sharing it. They are volunteering. They are talking to neighbors. They are giving what they can. They are doing the quiet work that actually moves a state.
Scott Jewett and Nicole Skelly want every one of those Floridians to hear this clearly: we see you. We appreciate you. This surge in grassroots support is not a talking point. It is the reason we are in this race.
This campaign was never going to be built from the top down
We did not enter this race because a party machine asked us to. We entered it because we got tired of watching the red team and the blue team run the same playbook while families paid the price.
Nicole said it when she announced: she did not grow up dreaming about political office. She grew up with a simple rule. If you see a need, you fill it. Scott was raised the same way. Help people who need it. Keep your word. Leave things better than you found them.
That is how this campaign is supposed to work. Neighbors talking to neighbors. People who live here standing up for the state they love. Not a flood of empty slogans. Not a stack of rules from people who do not feel the cost.
In the last stretch, that is exactly what we have seen. Volunteer lists growing. Inboxes filling with notes from Floridians who say, finally, someone is talking like a person instead of a politician. County chairs and first time volunteers sitting at the same table. People who have never given to a campaign sending twenty dollars because they believe Florida can do better.
That kind of support cannot be bought. It has to be earned. We do not take it lightly.
What grassroots looks like in real life
- It looks like a mom in Santa Rosa who stays after a meeting to help fold literature because she is done waiting for someone else to protect her kids.
- It looks like a carpenter who already works long hours and still finds time to talk to other small business owners about insurance premiums that eat the margin.
- It looks like a retiree on a fixed income who cannot keep absorbing higher taxes and higher bills, and who still writes a handwritten note that says, keep going.
- It looks like a nurse who does not have a loud voice in Tallahassee and is tired of government making care more expensive and more complicated.
- It looks like a young worker starting out who wants a Florida where you can stay, own a home, and keep what you earn — not a Florida that prices you out and then lectures you about it.
These are the people this campaign is for. The smallest minority is the individual. That is who we serve. When those individuals start standing together, that is grassroots. That is Florida.
Why this moment matters
Florida is the best state in the country. When Florida leads, the rest of America notices. But leadership is not a slogan. Families are working harder than ever. Government keeps making life more expensive and more complicated.
Homeowners are staring at insurance bills that do not match what they ever get back. Working people who built this state are wondering if they can stay. Parents want to raise their kids their way. Small businesses are fighting rules that cost time and money they do not have. Communities want to grow without being crushed. People want to keep their rights and keep their peace.
The two major teams will tell you the answer is always more of them. More rules. More spending. Less trust in you.
We do not buy that. Our mission is locked for a reason. We will keep Florida the best state in America by trusting people more than government. We will shrink overreach, stop wasting your tax dollars, defend your rights, and get Tallahassee out of the way, so you can keep what you earn, raise your kids as you see fit, and live free.
That message only works if people carry it. You are carrying it. That is the surge.
A direct thank you from Scott and Nicole
To every Floridian who has volunteered: thank you. You did not have to give your evenings. You did. That matters.
To every person who has donated what they could: thank you. Whether it was a large gift or a small one from a tight budget, you put skin in the game. We will treat that money like it is yours, because it is.
To every neighbor who has shared a post, hosted a conversation, or simply told a friend, look at these two: thank you. Word of mouth from real people beats a paid ad every time.
To the county leaders, precinct walkers, first time voters, and longtime Libertarians who have opened doors: thank you. You are the infrastructure. We are not a machine. We are a team of people who live here.
To the Floridians who are still watching from the sidelines: we see you too. If you are tired of the same broken playbook, there is a place for you. You do not have to be a political person. You just have to care about this state.
What we are asking next
Keep doing what you are doing. Talk to one more person. Invite one more neighbor. If you can volunteer, volunteer. If you can give, give. If you can only share the truth in your own words, that still counts.
Register to vote. Help someone else register. Stay informed. Show up. This race will not be won by people in suits talking over your head. It will be won by Floridians who decide they have had enough of being managed and are ready to be trusted.
Scott is a builder and a problem solver. Nicole is a mom, a small business owner, and a lifelong volunteer. Neither of them is a career politician. They are all in for Florida because they love the people in it.
The choice is still simple. More government control, or more freedom. Trust people. Shrink government. Let Floridians live free.
If you want leaders who get out of the way instead of standing in it, stand with us. The surge you are seeing is proof that Floridians are ready. We will not waste that energy. We will honor it by staying honest, staying clear, and staying focused on you.
This is Scott Jewett and Nicole Skelly. We are all in for Florida. Thank you for being all in with us.
